Marriage Encounter… As Clergy - What’s in it for me?
The Edmonton Anglican Marriage Encounter community would like to invite you to experience this significant Weekend, not only for your marriage but possibly for your parishioners, as well.
Why should I go?
As a clergy couple, your marriage is an example for others because it models Christ’s relationship to the church. Marriage Encounter reinforces that concept and provides the tools (dialoguing) to strengthen your relationship. This in turn, helps you become even better role models for the church.
As well, the Marriage Encounter Experience enhances intimacy through communication to make your marriage more fulfilling and stronger—for a lifetime. Why not give yourselves the gift of Marriage Encounter?

How will it help my ministry?
Many pastors and religious leaders who experience a Weekend, come away with stronger communication skills, coupled with a better ability to relate to their parish family and greater understanding of Family Life Ministries within their parish.

Why should I promote it?
Churches provide many activities for parishioners – Cursillo, Youth Groups, Men’s Breakfasts, Bible studies, Prayer Groups, Seniors’ Programs, New Immigrant Programs, and Women’s Activities to name a few. ME supports the Sacrament of Marriage and is another offering. It is specifically designed to strengthen a husband and wife’s relationship, to make good marriages even better. Strong marriages make for stronger families and ultimately stronger communities and churches. Do you know a couple that could benefit from this experience? Or perhaps there is a couple that just might need it that you are not aware of?

Hear from other clergy couples…
"Our marriage has been blessed and enriched by attending our ME Weekend and participating in Spiral. The dialogue technique we learned on the Weekend is an excellent method for encouraging deep conversations about our feelings, which has resulted in greater intimacy between Gary and me. We look forward to our Spiral evenings as a time to focus on us as a couple, and to be with other couples who value marriage as we do." ~ Gary & Lee

“Our Weekend was a real blessing in our marriage. We really appreciated hearing the stories from the presenting couples and the way they were shared with such obvious care and commitment. On the Weekend we learned some really practical tools for strengthening and deepening our communication with one another - tools we've used since and are thankful for. We have recommended M.E. to a lot of our friends because we think it is a great resource, especially in that it encourages folks to take the time to build and strengthen their marriage relationships which, in the end, also helps to build stronger families and communities.” ~ Chris & Krista
